Bob DelanceyRobert M. Delancy, who retired from CLC in 2007, passed away on January 29, 2020, at age 91. He is greatly loved and missed by all of us who worked with him. Born on January 1, 1929, in New Castle, PA, he was the son of the late Elmer and Myrna Delancy.
Bob was a graduate of New Castle Senior High School, class of 1947. He then attended Bob Jones University, Greenville, SC, receiving a B.A. degree in 1951 and a B.D. (Bachelor of Divinity) degree in 1953. In 1957 he earned a S.T.M.  (Master of Sacred Theology) degree from Faith Theological Seminary near Philadelphia. Later, he spent a year at Dallas Theological Seminary, Texas.
Before joining CLC, Bob served for a year each at several ministries including: Fishers of Men, Washington, D.C.,; Immanuel College of the Bible, Wheeling, WV; New Life Boys’ Ranch, Harleysville, PA. Then for three years he traveled extensively, booking meetings at churches for Mr. Ted Dencher, a convert from the Jehovah’s Witnesses.
Most of Mr. Delancy’s professional life was spent as a missionary with Christian Literature Crusade (now CLC Ministries International) as a Book Editor. In that capacity he edited over 250 books for CLC Publications, retiring with 42 years’ service.
Over the years he had the privilege of making two trips to Israel (1970 & 1974), plus brief visits to England, Wales, France, Holland, Italy, Greece, Bolivia, Peru, Barbados, Jamaica, Mexico, and Canada. In the U.S., he was able to visit all of the 3075 counties of the 48 states. He took many slides, which he enjoyed showing. In his spare time, he was an avid reader.
Bob never married and is survived by his two sisters: Virginia Burleson of Keizer, OR, and Marjorie Roberts, of Tucson, AZ – and their children and grandchildren.
Private interment will take place at George Washington Memorial Park, Plymouth Meeting, PA.

Robert Leishman

Another much loved and respected ‘international’ CLCer passed into the presence of his Savior on Friday January 31st. Robert Leishman, originally from Scotland, served for many years with CLC. Following CLC candidates training in 1962 (at the same time as Jean Mackinnon, CLC UK retiree) Robert went on to serve with CLC in Italy for about 30 years. While in Italy he met and married his American wife, Alice, who was there with OM at the time.

Robert initially started working in the Florence bookshop and then in Messina. He and Alice went on to open the bookshop in Milan and, later, to start the bookshop ministry in Turin. The Leishmans retired in Connecticut, USA.

Robert’s funeral and thanksgiving service will be held on Thursday February 6th. Please remember Alice, their two sons, and the wider family in prayer over these days.
