Can you imagine the fun and uproar of throwing a Christmas party for over two hundred kids? The noise level? The emotions? The sheer chaos?

This was how the Dolans spent their Christmas. A missionary couple from Camano Island, Washington, Ryan and Jill Dolan run Love a Neighbor, an orphanage operated by Mission of Grace. The ministry also includes a church, a school, a clinic, an elderly home, and a foundation in Plaisance du Sud, Haiti, one of the poorest nations in the world. The Dolans have lived here since 2013 when they moved with their seven kids from the States.

This was not the Dolans’ first taste of Christmas chaos. Mission of Grace strives to provide a special Christmas party and meal for hundreds of kids each year. What made this Christmas mayhem extra glorious and precious was that 250 French copies of God’s very Word were distributed among the children, the first copy for many if not most! And this was not exactly a walk in the park. A church supporting the Dolans, Camano Chapel, had been searching high and low for affordable French Bibles they could provide the children. The vendors contacted either had prices that did not fit Camano’s budget or did not have enough copies available. And then a providential phone call to CLC enabled the church to purchase and deliver almost 300 Bibles at a lower price point than anticipated through CLC’s MultiLanguage Media!

It is a beautiful relief to think of 250 Haitian children growing up with their own copy of God’s Word. Please pray for them, that their every need would be cared for and they would grow to be strong and mature men and women in the faith. Also pray for the Dolans and Mission of Grace for the wisdom, love, faithfulness, and endurance in Christ needed to minister to so many in need, both those under their direct care and within the Plaisance du Sud community.

And the work is not yet done. There are many others in Haiti and around the globe who do not have ready access to the Bible. Would you prayerfully consider where you could help spread God’s Word? Perhaps like Camano Chapel, you can rally your faith community to provide Scripture to a population in need. Thankfully, it’s Christmas all year round for God’s people and you don’t have to wait to spread the joyful, uproarious, life-giving gift of His Word!
